Anadi Foundation
Anadi is a common citizen's initiative to generate employment opportunities for rural artisans, especially rural women. We believe these citizens can transform poverty into prosperity if like minded people come together for a determined intervention. Anadi was initially established and registered under The Societies Registration Act,1860 in 2009 by a group of students and teachers of Delhi University to undertake poverty alleviation programs. It was reregistered under The Indian Trust Act, 1882, in the year 2020 to take the same vision forward in a new format. Matri Seva Sankalp
मातृ सेवा संकल्प
Many people in our country are not able to support their mothers in old age. Millions of abandoned mothers are living a terrible life of neglect in our villages. Anadi Foundation has initiated a pilot project to help some of these mothers in Pindaruch village of Darbhanga. Selected few mothers are above 65 years age, who have no effective support from any of their relatives. They are provided a grocery Kit containing Atta, Dal, Sugar, Salt, Tea, Patato, Cooking Oil, Spices, basic toiletries etc. worth nearly ₹1200 every month and two sets of sarees worth ₹3000 twice a year in Dushara and Holi.
Any villager may suggest the name of a beneficiary mother, but the final selection is done by a committee of common citizens. We have collected a consent letter from each beneficiary mother, because many mothers don't want to accept any help due to apprehension of family tension.
We understand that such a modest kit is not enough for a dignified life, but at least it's a token help which gives them some relief. Total annual expenses on each of the mother will be around ₹18,000.As a standard practice of transparecy, the total amount collected in donation and spent every month on purchase is shared with the MSS Support Group. If you are also interested in joining the Sankalp by supporting an abandoned mother for a month or a year, please send us WhatsApp message on 9818446601.
Your support will be greatly appreciated!
